long time, no blog

It's been a while but I have been running sporadically in the last couple weeks. I did a jogging stroller run one time - not too terribly hard but I felt kind of bad because I was too winded to say anything to Finn.
This weekend, I ran twice in a row. Not sure how far, but my legs are sore. So probably around 2 or 3 miles...
Brooklyn sounds awesome! I've never been there.

running to Top Chef

Hi English ladies, I ran 3 miles yesterday (barely)! Watched Top Chef on the treadmill but had to get off before I saw who was eliminated last week. Hmmm. I will catch it again I'm sure. I hope all is well with you guys---sounds like we are all pounding the pavement (or treadmill)! Good luck!

Training on Tuesdays

So far I've only managed to run on Tuesdays. I've run three Tuesdays in a row (1.5 miles, 1.5 miles and 2 miles today). Not making much progress toward the initial 5K goal. I almost didn't run this morning but then I read your posts on my iPhone and got myself out of bed. It's working!!!

Brooklyn might be fun. I bet I have hotel points we could use in Manhattan!

Brooklyn in May?

One possibility is the 1/2 marathon in Brooklyn in May---I can't confirm the exact date for 2010 but it seems that every May there is a run from Coney Island to Brooklyn. Could be fun!!

Saturday

Did a 35 minute run (and a wee bit of walking) yesterday. No idea how far I went, just know it was hard.

I did it.

Well despite Finn's best efforts to thwart my run, I did it. 2 miles.

Must Run Tomorrow...

Too many weekends of gluttony in a row... must run tomorrow. This is to serve as the motivation to get me to run tomorrow morning.
My brother got married this weekend at the lake and it was very fun. The outfit I wore was so freaking tight that it gave me a stomach ache. Sad.

The beginning

Hello ladies,
I ran 3 miles yesterday! It felt pretty good but it is still hard to imagine running much more. Plus, it was on the treadmill, in front of the tv.....I think I need to get myself outside. Ann, are you using this Hal Higden method? Do you like it? I need to find a program I can stick with.
Having dinner with your parents tonight---can't wait to hear the details about the new house, it sounds wonderful (walking distance to ice cream, namely).

Hi!

Hey guys, look at me....I'm blogging!! I'm feeling very motivating already just by typing. I haven't done anything much yet but I'm getting geared up for the exercise. And, by "geared" up, I mean that I want to go out and buy running clothes. Where are we running? Chicago? I'm up for anything. We can discuss in detail over Thanksgiving---not too far away actually!

My first run/walk

According to the Hal Higdon 5K training, I'm supposed to go for a long walk today - which I will do at lunch. Clearly my training program is more gradual than Corie's. Half marathons are sort of like long walks, right?

Corie's First Run

Hello Ladies!
I did my first run yesterday. It was a two mile run, interrupted by a visit to the pool to see Mike and Finn. So basically I ran 1 mile sat for 10 minutes and then ran the other! Pretty lame, but it was a challenge and I felt good when it was over.
